2 – days trekking – 1 night in refuge
Here there is our trekking proposal, crossing one of the most beautiful groups of the Dolomites: Catinaccio. We considered about 5/6 hours walking per day and a maximum gain elevation of 600m. The night we will sleep in very nice and typical hut where we will enjoy an amazing sunset and sunrise.
1st day:
Starting from Vigo di Fassa we will take the lift to Ciampedie, we will walk towards Gardeccia and the famous Vajolet towers at the foot of Catinaccio mountains. After a lunch break we will keep on walking to reach rifugio Passo Principe where we will spend the night in the heart of these beautiful mountains.
2nd day:
We will start our trekking by walking in direction of the Sciliar mountain and from here we will get on a panoramic easy ridge to reach Rifugio Sasso Piatto for a lunch break. In the afternoon we will walk under the impressive south face of Sassolungo group up to Sella Pass. From here we will go back to the valley by lifts or by walking.

Ex: with 5 people the price is about 210€ per person.
The price includes: Mountain Guide for the whole trip, overnight stay at the refuge with half board service (breakfast and dinner).
Not included: lunches, beverages and use of lifts.

2-days Trekking with via ferrata – 1 night in refuge
A 2-day trek proposal with via ferrata and overnight stay in a refuge in the heart of Catinaccio group. This itinerary includes an average of 5/6 hours walking per day and a maximum daily altitude gain of about 800m. We will spend the night in a refuge from where, if the conditions are good, we can admire the famous phenomenon of the Enrosadira which colors the Dolomites in red.
1st day:
Departure from Vigo di Fassa, where we will take the cable car and start our excursion to reach the famous via ferrata Roda di Vael. We will face the via ferrata and reach the Roda de Vael refuge where we will spend the night.
2nd day:
From Roda di Vael refuge we will start the hike by facing the Passo delle Cigolade which offers a majestic view of the Catinaccio and Larsech groups. Descent to Gardeccia for a lunch break. We will then return to the valley through Ciampedie (by lift or by walking).

Sunset and sunrise at Punta Penia 3342m
Mountaineering excursion to reach the highest peak in the Dolomites, from here the magnificent view you will enjoy will be unmatched!
We will start the ascent from Passo Fedaia to Pian dei Fiacconi. From here we can climb the normal route through the majestic glacier with the last part consisting in easy rocks and a final snow ridge that leads to Punta Penia 3342 m. The other option is to climb the western ridge via ferrata: Crossing from Pian dei Fiacconi to Forcella Marmolada, from where the via ferrata begins. Once we will reach the top, we will enjoy the peace that only a refuge like Capanna Penia can offer. Surrounded by a unique spectacle, we will admire the highest sunset in the Dolomites. Dinner, overnight stay and spectacular sunrise included in the price.
Altitude gain: 1300m (first day). Altitude loss: 1300m (second day)
Difficulty level: DIFFICULT – ADULTS
Meeting point: in the morning at Passo Fedaia.
Return: the next day around 11.00 am.
Normal route price: 320 € per person with 2 people, 220 € per person with 3-4 people.
West Ridge via ferrata price: 330 € per person with 2 people, 230 € per person with 3-4 people.
Note: The prices include UIAGM Mountain Guide and equipment (crampons, helmet, harness, via ferrata kit).
Overnight stay with half board service at refuge Punta Penia is not included in the price: 60€ per person (summer 2023)+ 30€ guide stay. Trekking clothes and boots, sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended.
Climbing route Bettega – Tomasson (1901 IV+/V)
Departure from Alba di Canazei in the late afternoon to reach the Contrin refuge where you will spend the night. In the morning departure at dawn to tackle the climbing route that goes up to Punta Penia. Great itinerary climbed on July 1st 1901 by Beatrice Tomasson with the guides Michele Bettega and Bortolo Zagonel. The route is very long, so we recommend the overnight stay at Capanna Punta Penia refuge, we will return to the valley the next day through the via ferrata.
Price: € 600 for 1 person, € 750 with 2 people.
Note: The price include the Mountain Guide service. The overnight stay with half board service at Capanna Penia refuge costs € 60 per person . The overnight stay with half board service at Contrin refuge costs €50 per person.
Ski Mountaneering introduction weekend
To experience the thrill of reaching a summit with your own legs and leaving the first track on fresh snow. Surrounded by winter nature and with a Dolomite view.
Anyone can learn ski mountaineering, we only required a good skiing technique and desire to get involved!
PROGRAMME:
Friday: meeting in the late afternoon for a couple of hours of theory, material check and briefing with introduction to avlanche self-rescue nivology.
Saturday: Ski mountaineering excursion (the itinerary depends on the level of the participants). We will talk about technique and materials, in the afternoon ARTVA teaching test on the snow and plannin of a skimo trip. Expected return at 4.30 pm.
Sunday: half-day ski mountaineering excursion.
Expected return at 1.00 pm.
Prices:
Private course 2 people: total 360€ per person.
Course with min. 3 max. 5 people: total 260€ per person.
Prices include UIAGM Mountain Guide and safety equipment (kit arva, shovel and probe).
The participants must show up with their own ski mountaineering material (skis, poles, skins and boots). Participants must be able to ski on red slopes.
